Nico, now that I see your comment facility is working, I'll go further.
Thanks for highlighting my little pieces of humour. As you know we Australians are generally antiauthoritarian and use our humour to take the tension out of serious situations.
There are 3 of the captions which have a serious intent and I'll just mention them here:
"On which part of this desolate plain will I forever lay?"
- This is a minor tribute to our dead from WWI who mainly fell in places far from here. Never to come home.
"I love a sunburnt country (apologies to D. Mackellar)"
- This is the first line from one of our best known folk poems which every child used to learn in primary school. It speaks of our love for this land, very different from the lands of Europe. Put that line into google and it will take you there.
"And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plain extended. (apologies to A.B. Paterson)"
