das war's dann wohl:

verdammt, wieviel zeit habe ich da verbracht... und auch geld gelassen. zur referendarzeit eigentlich immer mittwochs, meistens auch freitags/samstags. was haben carsten und ich gelacht, als irgendwann der kellner uns freitags mit zwei bereits auf dem tresen stehenden alt begrüsste: ich habe auf euch gewartet. oder uns samstags frug, ob wir noch vom freitag da wären.

natürlich auch die feiern am 23.12. dem ehemaligentreffen der gymnasien, karnevalsfeiern, examensfeiern und was sonst noch alles [irgendwann bin ich sogar zu sylvester dort aufgeschlagen, allerdings erst nach 3 uhr]. eigentlich habe ich immer gestanden, nur gesessen wenn die begleitung dies ausdrücklich wünschte oder es was zu essen gab. verflucht, auch die wärmeren tage draussen vor der tür. man musste die sperrstunde einhalten, aber man kann auch an der türe noch bier bekommen und für stammgäste bleibt der tisch auch gerne mal länger stehen. abgesehen davon konnte man von der türe auch das japanische feuerwerk aus sehen; nachdem alle gäste beim ersten böllerschlag zum rheinufer geeilt waren, war der laden neben der bedienung fast leer.

ich musste auch mittlerweile nicht mehr gefahr laufen, meiner mutter dort über den weg zu laufen. auch wenn sie immer noch gerne erzählt, wie sie mit mir im kinderwagen dort auf nen kaffee eingekehrt ist oder ebenso auch altweiber dort gefeiert hat.

glücklicherweise sind alle bekannten gesichter der kellner auch in anderen berufen ansässig, so dass man sich um die keine gedanken machen muss. was jetzt kommt, wird sich zeigen. lediglich die toiletten sollten "überholt" werden. meinetwegen kann der rest so bleiben, selbst über die musik- und klimanlage klage ich nicht. wehe wenn der tresen umgestaltet wird. und wenn das graffiti auf sperrholz [vorne links neben dem eingang an der wand] weg soll, ich kaufe es gerne ab! verflucht, was haben wir auch schon auf dieser holzbank gestanden und getanzt..... und nicht zu vergessen, 1880 wurde dort mein ruderverein gegründet!

aussie tv throwing their productions away, great! as i listen to the merrick and rosso [and kate ritchie] podcast nearly every day i noticed a damn fine tv-series about aussie crime in the 80ies 'underbelly a tale of the two cities'[correct me if i'm wrong, please bob!] as one of the radio announcers [kate ritchie that is] plays a minor role in it. so once the usual torrent/ rapidshare sites announced the second episode someone posted a link to the original channel nine homepage as it offers the whole first episode in great quality [avi, 1,39gb] for free.

i'm glad i do not have to wait for lame german tv-stations to get hold of this gem.

p.s.: i'm quite bemused as to my opinion the pictures shows the sydney skyline and the series takes place in melbourne [bob, might you help me?]

hd v dvd?

the sources are a dvd and hd. the differences are hughe, but I feel disapointed by the way the high definition looks. the movie losts some of it's magic to me...

the internet isn't better

today i went out at 8 am, rainy and cold, to buy some tickets for chirstmas concert of the germand die toten hosen, christmas 2009 by the way.

sale started today at 10 am, only local shops like the counter of the local soccer team [fortuna düsseldorf], a brewery downtown [uerige] and at the soccer game that day. all opened at 10 am, we waited 90min with freezing feet to get the tickets but the job was done.

roumers were spread that the internet ticket sale started at 8 am, which would have meant no waiting in the cold/rain. but what do i see?
